TEHRAN (IQNA) –All management of mosques in Malaysia's Perlis state have been asked to conduct more activities that can bring the public, especially the youth closer to the institution.

Perlis Islamic Department director, Dr Hazman Hassan said besides the mosque as a place for the Muslims to worship, it should also be used as a place to strengthen the unity of the local community.

"To encourage young people, the mosque management should be more creative in conducting activities that can attract them," he said when officiating the Masjid Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail generl meeting.

As an example, he said mosques could organize free tuitions in Quran recital for the youngsters and invite them to perform prayers together.
