Situation in Quds Implies Third Intifada May Begin at Any Time
Speaking to IQNA, Mustafa Qalum Abbas said the incidents in Quds on Friday were a warning to the Zionists that they should not feel secure as long as they continue the occupation and rule with weapons and intimidation.
"There are young people in this city (Quds) who are prepared to sacrifice their life and worldly belongings on the path of liberation of Quds from the Zionists,” he stressed.
Abbas added that conditions in the holy city are moving in a direction that the third Palestinian Intifada could start at any time.
He further underlined the need for all Muslims to get united and support the cause of Palestine.
He expressed hope that Muslims will succeed in retaking the holy city from the Zionists.
The Kuwaiti analyst also regretted that some rulers in Arab and Muslim countries talk about peace and normalization of ties with the Zionist regime.
On Friday, the Tel Aviv regime shut down al-Aqsa Mosque after a deadly shooting at the holy mosque’s compound in the Old City of occupied Quds.
The Friday gunfight took place just outside the Haram al-Sharif (Temple Mount) and left three Palestinians and two Israeli police officers dead.
Following the incident, Israeli police closed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, briefly detained Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the grand mufti of Quds, and cancelled Muslim Friday prayers at the site.
Mustafa Qalum Abbas said Friday’s incidents were a small part of crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians, warning Tel Aviv, however, that they should know that the Palestinian nation will rise up against it to defend their land and sanctities.
