Yemeni University Launches Quranic Sciences Department
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The University of Aden has launched a department of Quranic sciences and Islamic studies.
According to Hadharmawt website, it has been opened at the university’s Faculty of Arts and will admit students for the 2017-2018 semester.
The higher education council of the university had recently given its approval to the opening of the department.
Registration of students willing to study in the department will start soon, according to the university.
Wazah al-Shabhi, who heads the department, said it aims to enhance studies in Islamic and Quranic fields and contribute to the university’s scientific progress.
Established in 1972, the University of Aden is the first Yemeni university founded in the Republic of Yemen beside Sana’a University.
