120 Countries Invited to Attend Dubai Int’l Quran Competition for Women

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Dubai International Holy Quran Award Institute in the UAE announced that it has invited 120 countries to nominate their contestants in the 4th edition of the international Quran competition for women in Dubai.

 

According to quran.gov.ae, the competition, titled Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, will start on November 1.

Ibrahim Muhammad Bumilha, adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and head of DIHQA organizing committee, said that the three previous editions of the international Quranic event were successfully held with the participation of representatives from 72, 76 and 75 countries respectively.

Applicants for the competition should be under 25 years old and memorizers of the entire Quran who also master Tajweed principles, he added.

An educational course will be held for the contestants on the sidelines of the competition, he added.

The three top winners will be respectively awarded 250000, 200000 and 150000 Emirati dirhams, according to the organizers.

Zeynab Feyzi, an 8-year old girl from Tehran, will represent Iran in the 4th edition of the competition.
