Egypt Quran Radio Apologizes for Playing Adhan Untimely
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Quran Radio of Egypt apologized for playing Adhan (call to prayers) ahead of time on Thursday.
In a statement, the Quran Radio said it was a mistake made inadvertently, al-Masry al-Youm website reported.
The radio station played the Adhan four minutes ahead of time on Thursday.
Apologizing to the listeners, the radio noted that some worshippers who were fasting on that day broke their fast earlier than they should have due to the mistake.
It noted that according to a Fatwa (religious edict) by the country’s Mufti, when one breaks their fast ahead of time for not knowing the time of Adhan, his fasting is valid.
