In the statement, issued on Wednesday, the ministry emphasized that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to exercise the inherent right of legitimate defense and will respond decisively to any military aggression by the enemy.

It strongly denounced the aggressive attack by the US terrorist army on several Iranian oil tankers on the evening of Tuesday, September 8.

“The US military attack on Iranian commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman, as a continuation of the US military aggression, naval blockade and economic war against Iran, is a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.”

The statement added that te US aggressive actions against Iranian commercial vessels are not only a dangerous escalation of tension in the region, but also a clear threat to regional and international peace and security.

“In response to the US’s aggressive actions against Iranian tankers, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with their inherent right of self-defense, attacked US military bases and facilities located in Jordan, which continue to support US military aggression against Iran, as well as several US aggressor vessels.”
