17,000 Tamil Translations of Quran’s 30th Juz Distributed in Sri Lanka

IQNA – The Ulema (scholars) Association of Sri Lanka distributed about 17,000 copies of the Tamil translation of the Amma Juz (the thirtieth part of the Quran).

The copies were distributed among the association’s branches in various regions of Sri Lanka, according to the Muslimsaroundtheworld website.

The aim of this initiative is to expand the reach of the Quran and make it accessible to Muslims through a network of local branches.

In environments where Islamic education needs the simplest means to get started, a small portion of the Quran printed in a language that people understand can be an accessible educational tool for families, Quran memorization circles, schools and mosques.

From the perspective of Islamic activity in areas where education and knowledge are scarce, such small initiatives have an impact beyond their size. And a copy of the Quran can go from being a text read by a family member to an educational tool for children, used in Quran memorization circles and having a constant presence in the educational environment of mosques.

The distribution of the Amma Juz translations took place on the sidelines of the Central Committee meeting of the Ulema Association of Sri Lanka held at its headquarters on September 5, 2026.
