Head of the Headquarters for Upholding Prayers urged that the Holy Quran should be translated into all languages.

Addressing a ceremony held in Shiraz to commemorate martyr Ayatollah Dastgheyb, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohsen Qara’ati added that religious preachers who have mastery over different languages be trained to render the Quran into other languages.

He noted that the Holy Book has so far been translated into 52 languages and that there are many languages the Quran should be translated to.

Hojat-ol-Islam Qara’ati also stressed the need for seminary students to develop their studies and fill the gap created by the absence of scholars like Martyr Dasthgeyb.

He referred to Martyr Dasthgeyb’s emphasis on the issue of Velayat-e Faqih (guardianship of the Supreme Jurist) and quoted Martyr Dastgheyb as saying that one who follows the Velayat-e Faqih in the Islamic Republic is already in paradise.

Hojat-ol-Islam Qara’ati further hailed commemoration of Martyr Dastgheyb and said the best way to commemorate such great Muslim scholars is through promoting their works in society.

The ceremony for commemorating Martyr Dastgheyb was held Thursday night, December 12, at Atiq Mosque in Shiraz.
