Quran Contest for Mentally Impaired Planned in Egypt

A national Quran memorization contest will be held on May 25 for the mentally impaired in Egypt.


According to Al-Bawaba news website, the contest will be organized by Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf for Quran memorizers aged less than 30.

Memorization of the entire Quran, three Juzes (parts) and the 30th Juz of the Holy Quran will be the categories of the contest.

The Ministry will form special committees to evaluate the qualification of those willing to attend the contest.

The evaluation will be done on May 25 and the result will be announced by the Ministry by June 8.

The Quran memorizers who will be selected by the committees will compete at the ministry headquarters  in Cairo on June 15.

Winners of the contest will be awarded in the holy month of Ramadan.
