Quran Memorization Schools Planned for Visually-impaired in Turkey

Turkey's government plans to launch special Quran memorization schools for the visually-impaired.

Mehmet Gormez, President of Turkey's Religious Affairs Department (Diyanet) said preparations are underway for establishing the schools, Sadi al-Balad website reported.
He said a number of Quran instructors have been trained to teach in these schools and Quran copies in Braille have also been purchased to be used by the students.
Gormez added that the Quran schools will soon be ready to welcome the visually-impaired who would like to learn the Holy Quran by heart.
He went on to say that the department is also pursuing a plan for holding special Quranic courses for the hearing-impaired.
