TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Malaysia says the two countries are set to continue to use Quranic diplomacy for boosting bilateral ties.

“Iran and Malaysia are on the verge of entry into a new era of Quranic diplomacy,” Ali Asghar Mohammadi told IQNA reporter on the sidelines of the Restu Global Quranic Arts Festival in Putrajaya on Friday.

The remarks come as Iran’s Cultural Center has been a partner in organizing the event. Iran has also dispatched a delegation comprising artists to the event to showcase the capabilities of the country.

Iran has enormous potential for participating in global Quranic events, the envoy added.

More efforts are needed to introduce the international aspect of Iranian artists, he said.

The Holy Quran is a unifying element of the Muslim world and we should cling to it, Mohammad stressed.

The event is being held with the aim of paying attention to new aspects of issues related to the Quran and Iranians have a lot to say in this arena, noted the ambassador.

The event was inaugurated on Friday at Nasyrul Quran Complex.

The festival is open to the public from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays and from 9 AM to 9 PM on weekends (Malaysia’s local time).

The 10-day festival will have various exhibitions such as artifacts of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions, Kaaba Kiswa, Quran village, the largest Seerah book in the world, and exclusive Restu products.
