Int’l Quran Recitation Festival in Casablanca Names Winners

IQNA – The winners of the 9th international Quran recitation festival in Casablanca, Morocco, were honored in a ceremony on Sunday.

The ceremony began with recitation of the Quran by 22 finalists of the Quranic event, Hispress website reported.

They had made it to the final round from among a total of 100 contestants.

Twelve of the finalists, three boys, three girls, three men and three women, were named and awarded as the top winners of the international festival.

They received prizes as well as certificates of honors from the organizers.

The Communications and Social Development Society of Morocco organized the event, which featured recitation of the Quran while observing the rules of Tajweed.

In the context of the recitation of the Quran, Tajweed is a set of rules for the correct pronunciation of the letters with all their qualities and applying the various traditional methods of recitation.

During the four-day event, renowned Moroccan scholar and Quran reciter Sheikh Mohammed al-Torabi was also honored.
