TEHRAN (IQNA) – The provincial stage of Iran’s 40th national Quran competition kicked off on Saturday.

It began after the conclusion of the first round held at cities and towns.

The winners of the first stage made it to the provincial stage, which will continue in the country’s 31 provinces until August 11.

The northwestern city of Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan province, will host the national stage of the competition’s 40th edition.

It will be held in the categories of memorization of the Holy Quran (memorization of 5, 10, and 20 Juzes (parts) and the entire Quran), recitation (Tahqiq and Tarteel), memorization of Hadiths, Quran interpretation, choral recitation, Adhan (call to prayer), etc.

Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the Quranic event with the aim of promoting the teachings of the Holy Quran, fostering Quranic activities and identifying the country’s Quranic talents.
