According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the first rank winners of the 19th national Quran competition in India which was held on the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday are representing the country at the international event.
It was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in New Delhi as the preliminary stage of the international Quran competition.
Mohammad Akram from Kolkata and Jabir Ahmad from Maharashtra State are the Indian participants respectively in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and recitation of Quran.
The final stage of the international Quranic event started in Tehran on Wednsday and will run until April 14.
The Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) in the capital city is hosting the event.
