TEHRAN (IQNA) – Congregational prayers have been hailed as the secret to the grandeur of the Muslim community. Attending congregational prayers is not mandatory but it has been strongly recommended.

Saying prayers is compulsory but saying it in a congregation and among other fellow Muslims is a strongly recommended act. Other than daily routine prayers, there are some mustahabb prayers as well that are said during days or nights or during special events, such as in Eid al-Fitr.

The love for worship should push the believers to perform mustahabb prayers.

The reward for attending congregational prayers is beyond description.

Friday prayers that are held every Friday also have socio-political and cultural aspects. They grow unity in the Muslim community and neutralize the plots of enemies.

Friday and congregational prayers are keys to the grandeur of the Muslim Ummah.

Congregational prayers prepare the ground for understanding people and their problems and ultimately, helping to solve these problems.

Congregational prayers have increased thawab (reward) even if they are held with delay or if they do not take too long.

All people unite when saying prayers in a congregation. This also leads to the elimination of selfishness.

According to narrations, God will bestow increased mercy on a group of believers.

According to narrations, whoever hears the call to congregational prayers and does not pay attention to it, his/her prayer will be worthless.

Persistent participation in congregational prayers keeps individuals away from hypocrisy.
