Khatm Quran Event Held for Martyred Palestinian Prisoner
The Islamic Jihad movement and the Iqra Charity Society organized the event on Friday.
It lasted for several hours and was attended by tens of Quran memorizers and people from all age groups.
Addressing the ceremony, Islamic Jihad spokesman Tareq Salmi underlined the need for promoting the Quranic teachings and values in society, especially among the youths and teenagers and said Martyr Adnan had been raised with these sublime values and teachings.
Adnan began his hunger strike shortly after being arrested on February 5.
He had gone on hunger strike several times after previous arrests, including a 55-day strike in 2015 to protest his arrest under so-called administrative detention, in which suspects are held indefinitely by the Israeli regime without charge or trial.
His death has drawn widespread condemnation, especially in the Arab and Muslim world.
The Jenin refugee camp in the West Camp hosted a memorial service for Martyr Adan and other Palestinians martyrs on Friday.
A large number of Palestinians, including families of martyrs and prisoners, took part in the ceremony.
A spokesman for the Palestinian resistance underlined in an address that revenge will be taken for the blood of martyrs and that resistance and struggle against the Zionist enemy will continue.
In other news from Palestine, Israeli regime forces raided Noor Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm in the West Bank, during which two Palestinians were martyred.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the two were brought dead to a hospital in Tulkarm and a third was brought with injuries in the limbs and is in stable condition.
The two were identified as Samer Salah Shafiee, 22, who was shot in the neck, chest, and belly, and Hamza Jamil Kharyoush, 22, shot in the chest, belly, and left leg, according to Wafa news agency.
Reports from Tulkarm said a large army force raided the refugee camp and in the process shot and killed the two youths and injured the third before leaving the area.
With the latest killings, the Israeli army shot and killed 108 Palestinians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, inside Israel, and in the Gaza Strip since the start of the year, including 20 minors and two women. Two others have died in prison, including Khader Adnan.
