Quranic courses for students in Iraq

The Holy Quran Scientific Assembly, affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) hoy shrine, will organize the courses, Al-Kafeel website reported.

Students aged 6 to 16 can take the courses, which will be held for boys in the governorates of Meysan, Wasit, Diwaniyah and Najaf.

Planning is also underway to include more governorates in the Quranic program.

The participants will receive lessons on Quran memorization and recitation as well as Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic beliefs, ethics, and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Infallible Imams (AS).

The lessons will be prepared by a committee of Quranic and religious experts.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the Arab country in recent years.
