Competition Underway to Select Iran’s Representatives in Students’ Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Tehran is hosting a competition for choosing Iran’s representatives in the upcoming international Quran contest for school students.

It is being held separately for boy and girl students at Shahid Bahonar Campsite in the capital, deputy education minister Mikaeil Baqeri said.

He noted that the contenders are those who had the best performances in Quran contests for students held at the school, local, regional and national levels.

They are competition in Quran recitation, memorization and Tarteel categories, the official added.

Ten internationally-known Quran experts form the panels of judges of the competition, he stated.

They will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 8th edition of the international Holy Quran competition for school students, Baqeri went on to say.

He noted that Iran will host the competition in the Iranian calendar month of Bahman (January 21-February 19, 2024).
