Brunei Nat’l Quran Contest Gets Underway in Bandar Seri Begawan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stages of Brunei’s national competition began on Wednesday.

It is being held on Quran memorization and understanding its meaning.

The MABIMS Al-Quran Studies and Dissemination Center in Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, is hosting the event, which will continue until February 8.

Categories A and B took place on February 2-3, while Category C will be held Thursday at 8am and 1.45pm and February 7 at 8am.

Category D will take place on February 7 at 1.45pm and on February 8 at 8am while Category E will compete on February 8 at 1.45pm.

Brunei is a sovereign state located on the north coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia.

Islam is Brunei's official religion and nearly 70 percent of the population is Muslim.
