‘Rise of Iran’s Willpower’: Leader Reacts to Operation True Promise

“With divine grace, the armed forces have positively showcased their capabilities and authority as well as the Iranian nation's commendable spirit, affirming the rise of the willpower of the Iranian nation on the global stage,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said while addressing a host of top Iranian military commanders in Tehran on Sunday.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched Operation True Promise on April 13, targeting the military sites of the Israeli regime with dozens of missiles and drones. The attack came in response to the Israeli attack on April 1 on Iran’s diplomatic premises in the Syrian capital Damascus which claimed the lives of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.

The recent accomplishments of the armed forces have instilled a sense of pride and magnificence in Islamic Iran as perceived by the international community, the Leader said.

The issue of the number of missiles launched or their accuracy, which the other side is focusing on, is secondary, he said, adding, “The primary issue is the rise of the Iranian nation's and its armed forces’ willpower in the global arena, which has unsettled the other side.”

Every event comes with its costs and benefits, and it's crucial to minimize the former while maximizing the latter, Ayatollah Khamenei said, noting that Iranian armed forces have achieved this balance in recent events.

He advised the military to persist in their endeavors, confronting adversities and foes with creativity and foresight. “We must never halt our progress, because to pause means to regress. Continual innovation in our arsenal and tactics, along with an understanding of the enemy's strategies, must remain our constant focus.”

He urged the commanders to put trust in God Almighty, noting that God’s defense of the faithful is “absolute and unbreakable.”
